Think of it like this: if someone buys a diffuser, they might also need more sticks or a refill oil. By suggesting those at just the right moment, you’re helping them complete their purchase while increasing your average order value.

These are often called cart bumps – small, relevant recommendations that appear during the checkout process.

Why It Works

  • Relevant to their purchase: You’re not suggesting random items, you’re showing them something that naturally complements what they’ve already chosen.

  • Customer-led upsell: Instead of you doing the selling, they simply see an option that makes sense and add it to their cart.

  • Free shipping boost: If you offer free shipping at a certain spend, these little add-ons can nudge customers over the line, making them feel like they’ve got a better deal. 

It’s a win-win: you make more income from the same number of customers, and they get an easier, more complete shopping experience.
